   The purpose of the RISE Program is to enhance the research environment at minority-serving institutions. The overall goal is to increase the interest, skills, and competitiveness of faculty and students in pursuit of biomedical research careers.

   UPR-Humacao's RISE Program provides research opportunities for undergraduate minority students in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, among others. This Program is designated to promote the interest of our students in biomedical research careers, strengthen students' research competence, prepare the participating students for graduate school, and enhance the capability of the faculty for participation in biomedical research. The selected students are offered certain financial stipends during their participation in the Program.
