Ronald E.
McNair Post-Baccalaureate Scholars Program

|
Students who
are to participate in The Ronald E. McNair Program must meet the
following criteria:
-
Must demonstrate interest
in pursuing a Ph.D.
-
Must be of first
generation and receive Federal (PELL) or Legislative (LEG)
Aid or be from an underrepresented minority group
-
Must have a 3.33 GPA or
higher
-
Must be in the third or
fourth year of undergraduate school
-
Must be willing to carry
out research
-
Must be recommended by two
members of the UPRH faculty
-
Must be willing to
participate in all McNair activities (Seminars,
colloquiums, trainings, etc.)
-
Must apply to graduate
school during their Senior year

Workshops and Colloquiums

Travel Stipends for
Research Presentations

Workshops (fifteen hours)
on responsible research and bio-ethics in research

Visits to Graduate Schools
-
Project 1000 Guidance
-
Update on research
opportunities, fellowships and internships

The Ronald E. McNair
Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program at the University of Puerto
Rico at Humacao is funded through TRIO Program Grants received from the
United States Department of Education totaling $902,248.00. |
